Democrats plan to ‘cheat’ in future elections by enacting election reform legislation: Senator Rick Scott (R-FL)

On Sunday, Sen. Rick Scott, R-Fla., chastised the “anti-democracy” party over their contentious voting rights bill, calling it a political ruse to let Democrats “cheat” in future elections.

During an interview on “Sunday Night in America,” Scott told host Trey Gowdy, “It’s simply about Democrats winning elections.”

“When you look at the Democrat Party now, you’ll notice that they’re anti-democracy and talk of filling the Supreme Court.
They don’t want you to vote unless you present your ID… By the way, if you use mail-in voting, your signatures don’t have to match, and we’ll have ballot harvesting….as well as unmonitored ballot boxes, which is wonderful since it might help us cheat, “he stated, “The Democrat Party is an anti-democracy organization. That’s exactly what they’ve turned into.”

If passed, the federal proposals would allow same-day voter registration, make Election Day a national holiday, and increase mail-in voting options. Democrats believe that the two proposals are critical in the wake of the Jan. 6 Capitol riot to prevent President Biden’s election certification, former President Trump’s repeated false claims that he won the 2020 election, and “voter suppression” actions in GOP-led states.

Republicans, on the other side, have warned that eliminating the filibuster will force a Senate shutdown since the new regulations amount to a massive federal takeover of local elections.

Scott applauded his Democratic colleagues Joe Manchin of West Virginia and Kyrsten Sinema of Arizona for rejecting the repeal of the filibuster, which permits Republicans to utilize the legislative process to prevent significant electoral reform proposals from passing.

“Thank God, some people are going to show up and say, ‘We believe in minority rights and bipartisanship,'” Scott said. “They’ll make sure [Senate Majority Leader] Chuck Schumer and Joe Biden don’t get their way right now,” says one source.

In terms of the impending midterm elections, Scott believes Republicans will easily retake control of the House and Senate.

“I believe we will win the House and the Senate,” he said. “Joe Biden’s popularity is plummeting, as evidenced by your list: the border, the Keystone XL pipeline, inflation, the disastrous Afghan retreat, and defunding police. They are disliked because they do not allow parents to participate in their children’s education, “he stated

“We’ll have a fantastic 2022, and we’ll make sure we don’t do anything insane,” Scott added. “We’ll win in ’22 and ’24, and we’ll change the country’s course for the better.”
