Neil Gaiman Delivers a Good Omens Season 2 Sneak Peek at NYCC

At NYCC, Neil Gaiman Gives a Sneak Peek at Good Omens Season 2

Fans of Good Omens—demons and angels alike—have been eagerly awaiting any season two news following the phenomenal first season that debuted on Prime Video in 2019. After months of “wait and see” from the streaming service and author Neil Gaiman, we finally have a clip with a little more information, coming straight from the New York Comic Con panel.

When io9 attended the panel earlier today, this is what we observed: the clip depicts Nina Sosanya, who plays “Nina,” working in a coffee shop in SoHo. Muriel (Quelin Sepulveda), a new angel who comes across as a little naive, arrives at Aziraphale’s (Michael Sheen) store dressed as a vintage policeman. She’s obviously terrible at pretending. Muriel claims, “I’m a police officer made of humans. She accepts Aziraphale’s invitation and receives some tea, which she chooses to merely observe rather than consume. Crowley (David Tennant) then appears. As soon as he enters, he leans against Aziraphale’s chair and sits next to him, creating an intensely private atmosphere. Muriel complains, “I’m meant to watch you,” as the two retreat into a bedroom. Don’t worry, Aziraphale adds; we’ll let you know what we discussed after we’re done.

When co-author and executive producer Neil Gaiman informed the audience, “Because you loved season one, we got to make season two,” the panel—which included director Rob Wilkins, performers Maggie Service, Sepuvelda, and Sosanya—caught the spirit.

Gaiman and Terry Pratchett wrote the 1990 novel Good Omens; the 1990 television adaptation, which stars Sheen as the angel Aziraphale and Tennant as the demon Crowley, quite closely follows the storyline of the book. The show’s initial run was supposed to be brief, but when season two was revealed in 2021, the fanbase went into a frenzy. This season two poster, which was unveiled at NYCC, is related to tizzies. View the wings! It’s a heart! The entire Good Omens cast has been informed about the Ineffable Husbands, and we are READY!

The summer of 2023 will see the release of Good Omens on Amazon Prime.
