On December 5, His Dark Materials will return to HBO for Season 3, which will consist of four weeks of two episodes each.
The third and final season of the show, which was announced at New York Comic-Con, will premiere with two back-to-back episodes on HBO and HBO Max at 9 p.m. Pacific / 11 p.m. Eastern. The eight-episode season will include two episodes per week and end on December 26.
The schedule for Season 3 on the BBC in the UK is unknown as of this writing.
Lin Manuel Miranda, who played Lee Scoresby in Hamilton, will also reprise his role in the production, along with Dafne Keen, Amir Wilson, Ruth Wilson, James McAvoy, Lord Asriel, Simone Kirby, Mary Malone, Will Keen, Father President McPhail, Jade Anouka, Commander Ogunwe, Father Gomez, Kobna Holdbrook-Smith, Simon Harrison, and Chipo Chung as the rebel angels Baltha.
Based on Philip Pullman’s iconic trilogy of books, His Dark Materials tells the tale of Lyra Belacqua and Will Parry, who must cooperate to look into the enigmatic phenomenon known as Dust. The third season, which will conclude the programme, will be loosely based on The Amber Spyglass.
