Batgirl wasn't completed before the DC movie was axed

The directors of the cancelled DC film Batgirl claim that it was already half-finished when Warner Bros decided to scrap it.
The eagerly anticipated film, which had Michael Keaton reprising his role as Batman, Brendan Fraser as the supervillain Firefly, and Leslie Grace as the titular Gotham City vigilante, was unexpectedly cancelled by the studio earlier this month.
The Hollywood Reporter reports that directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah recently joined French YouTube channel SKRIPT to discuss the project’s future.

“Adil explained, “The folks from Warners told us, ‘It wasn’t a talent problem from our part or the actress, or even the quality of the movie,'” before his co-star in the movie reacted, “First, when I received the news, I was surprised, I didn’t know how to respond. I wanted to shatter things, cry, and even laugh. This is not happening, I thought.”
Batgirl is unreleasable in its current form, despite expectations for some sort of revival in the future a la Zack Snyder’s Justice League.

Adil stated, “There’s no VFX, we still had to shoot some scenes.”
“Therefore, [Warners] would need to provide us with the tools to do so if they wanted us to release the Batgirl movie. to completely complete it in our view.”

When asked if they were able to save any footage, Bilall said that they were unable to access the studio’s server any more.
“None of it exists! Go ahead and shoot some things on your phone, Adil said when he contacted me. When I accessed the server, everything was blocked “He claimed.
We exclaimed, “F**king s**t!” Adil contributed. “all of the Batman-related moments! Shit!”
