Sweet Magnolias, which has been off the air for much too long, has returned for a second season on Netflix. The first group of episodes of this beautiful Southern soap opera was published in May of 2020, and now we’re finally getting the following round of chapters. As a result, you may have forgotten where Maddie, Dana Sue, and Helen had left their Sweet Magnolias for the last time. These spoilers for Sweet Magnolias Season 1 are provided for anyone who missed the Season 1 finale and wants to get caught up.
What is the plot of Sweet Magnolias?
Based on Sherryl Woods’ series of Sweet Magnolias novels, this Netflix series follows three longtime friends in South Carolina as they face a variety of challenges. A divorcee with three kids and a new spa to operate is Maddie Townsend (JoAnna Garcia Swisher). Cal Maddox, a hot high school baseball coach (and former professional athlete) caught her attention last season (Justin Bruening). Finally, Dana Sue Sullivan (Brooke Elliott), the owner and head chef of Sullivan’s, is in the mix. She has a daughter named Annie (Brandon Quinn) who is estranged from her husband, Ronnie (Brandon Quinn) (Anneliese Judge). It’s also worth noting that Helen Decatur (Heather Headley) is a fiercely independent lawyer who has no intention of waiting around for a guy to catch up before starting a family.
How did the first season of Sweet Magnolias end?
The series ended abruptly in May of 2020, leaving many questions unanswered. Helen decided to consult a reproductive doctor after she ended her relationship with her unsure ex, Ryan. Erik, a chef from Sullivan’s, may be her next suitor. Dana Sue wants Ronnie to complete their divorce so she may apply for a loan and take out her former business partner, Sullivan’s. Cal and Maddie had a disagreement when Maddie assumed he wanted her son Ty to put baseball ahead of college. It’s the season finale car collision that’s really the only incentive to tune in for Season 2.
Who was riding shotgun in Kyle’s car?
Kyle is Maddie’s middle kid, therefore we know he was the driver. Could it be Ty or Nellie, Kyle’s prom date? Possibly Annie, the daughter of Dana Sue. One of the several other high school students may also be the culprit. The second season of Sweet Magnolias is upon us. This horrific accident necessitates more investigation. Then, maybe, we can begin to speculate about the future love and professional lives of the Sweet Magnolias. All this is on top of the daily activities of the village and a few unanswered questions, such as the origins of Isaac. In the end, the women will need an entire pitcher of margaritas to get through this.
