INDIANAPOLIS (CSU) — After being shot in a residence in Indianapolis’ near the northwest side Monday night, a young boy is in critical condition.

A person shot was reported in the 1900 block of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard soon before 11 p.m. Monday. They discovered the victim with obvious gunshot wounds when they arrived.

The shooting occurred in the child’s home, and the parents attempted to take the youngster to the hospital, but they noticed and flagged down an ambulance on the way.

The infant was subsequently transferred to Riley Hospital for Children in critical condition, though their condition had since stabilized, according to authorities.

The parents are collaborating with investigators, according to 13News, although they recently moved and were unable to furnish authorities with their new residence, where the incident allegedly occurred.
