Secrets Of Sulphur Springs Season 2 Coming Soon To Disney+ (US) (1)

The season two debut of Secrets of Sulphur Springs will air on Disney Channel on Friday, January 14, at 8 p.m. ET/PT with back-to-back episodes.

In the time-traveling adventure series, Harper Dunn (Kyleigh Curran) and Griffin Campbell (Preston Oliver) continue their mission to discover the origins of The Tremont with the aid of Savannah (Elle Graham) in the 1960s. When the doorway to the time machine vanishes after Harper follows a ghost to the 1930s, she is forced to cross the past in order to return to the present day. Will the secrets… and ghosts… be revealed?

1. The Tremont is also creepy in person.

The spooky fun doesn’t stop with what you see onscreen. While the cast and crew love shocking one other in between shots, the staged sets, and the farmhouse are creepy as hell. “The real home is haunted,” claims showrunner and executive producer Charles Pratt Jr. of Secrets of Sulphur Springs. “Everyone has said it. There’s nothing warm and cozy about that place; even when it’s 115 degrees outside, you can sense the ghosts.” The farmhouse, like the Tremont, has a long history, having lived in a variety of settings before becoming a filmmaking site, including spells as a sugar cane mill and farm. Season two has a ghost hunter sequence that was shot on location and at night in Louisiana. Tracey Thomson, the series creator and executive producer tells D23 that the night shoot was “very spooky.”

2. New mysteries are introduced in Season 2.

All of your questions from Season 1 will be answered! Thomson explains that the second season of Secrets of Sulphur Springs will involve lots of time travel to the 1930s and 1960s as Harper and Griffin continue their research of the Tremont and its enigmatic surrounds, but they’ll also trek to a new location: the future! Along with this new frontier, the program will give additional background to its characters and introduce new faces. In addition, we’ll discover more about Harper’s link to the hotel and why we saw double in the first episode.

3. A superfan has been added to the cast.

Season two introduces viewers to Sam Tremont, who is played by Ethan Hutchinson as a youngster in the 1930s and Eugene Byrd as an adult in the 1960s. Sam, like Harper and Griffin, is fascinated by time travel and its endless potential. In season two, we’ll discover more about Sam and his legendary surname. Young Sam builds a time machine out of a bicycle and is shown fiercely peddling in one episode in the hopes of realizing his ambition. Hutchinson claims that the sequences, while enjoyable to shoot, were tough to nail due to the decade’s fashion choices. “The pedals on that bike were so loose, and we tried everything since the bottom of the shoes was smooth, so we created grits on the shoes and used tape to assist grip the shoes to the pedals,” he explains. Joining the cast is a dream come true for Hutchinson, who describes himself as a “superfan” of the program. He acknowledges that he watched the first season multiple times before joining the cast and tried not to “geek out” during his first table read.

4. Season two delves on race relations in the 1930s and 1960s.

By delving deeper into Harper’s character and her family’s relationship to The Tremont, the creators are able to express to younger viewers and families what life was like for people of color. “Having a modern-day youngster travel back and having to live that resonated to us,” Thomson adds. Curran is eager for viewers to discover how Harper’s 1930s reality compares to Griffin’s. “I believe we did a wonderful job of presenting what life was like for people of color back then, and how it wasn’t easy and how you weren’t treated like a person at all,” she adds. “I suppose we spoke about it a lot during the season.” I’d like to confront that a little more, especially since Harper is a person of color traveling across time, and all these various regions in the past will have a lot of difficulties with being a person of color.”

5. Secrets of Sulphur Springs is a must-see for Disney enthusiasts since…

According to Oliver, the series appeals to both the young and the young at heart. “I believe Secrets of Sulphur Springs is a one-of-a-kind Disney experience.” “We’ve merged all of the concepts into one performance, and it’s appropriate for a wide range of ages,” he explains. “It can be seen by six-year-olds, 14-year-olds, and their parents, and everyone can enjoy it.” So that’s the main reason I think people will like watching the show.” The cliffhangers, according to Graham, will keep people coming back week after week. “I believe when I watch shows, I appreciate it when there’s a cliffhanger, and Secrets of Sulphur Springs is full of cliffhangers.” We depict a lot of true difficulties with Harper and the past, as well as family issues and other things that people may connect to.”

Secrets of Sulphur Springs Season 2 will premiere on Disney Channel on Friday, January 14 at 8 p.m. ET/PT, with two back-to-back episodes. On Wednesday, January 19, the season will launch on Disney+ and will be available in its entirety.
