Early Saturday Morning Crime Spree in Waverly

Early Saturday morning, there was a crime spree in Waverly.

Vandals damaged the glass of a county-owned vehicle parked at 145th and Bailie Street at 2:41 a.m., according to Lancaster County Sheriff Terry Wagner. Vests, hard helmets, winter gloves, and a coat were among the items confiscated.

A lady phoned the Sheriff’s Office at 2:58 a.m. to report that her husband’s 2011 Toyota Tundra had been stolen from the 101st block of North 149th Street driveway. The keys were left inside the car, and it was not locked. WWI-421 is the vehicle’s license plate. That car has yet to be found.

A guy residing in the 9500 block of North 147th Place observed a Ford truck in the roadway a short time later. The unknown individual threw something onto the bed, returned inside, and fled. After, the guy saw that his truck had been entered and that a man was going away. This resulted in a quarrel and a confrontation.

The Ford truck arrived as the two guys were arguing, and the driver jumped out and began beating the victim by kicking him in the face. The guy got back into his truck and drove away.

The victim’s car had been broken into, and $1,500 in golf equipment had gone stolen, according to a guy who came to see him.

The probe is still ongoing. Call the Sheriff’s Office if you have video surveillance proof or realize you were a victim.
