‘Billions Season 6: Release Date, Trailer and Everything We Know About the Showtime Drama

‘Billions Season 6 Release Date, Trailer and Everything We Know About the Showtime Drama

The Showtime drama has returned for season 6 after a short hiatus for millions of fans. Billions season 6 is expected to start only a few months after the season 5 finale aired in October, despite the fact that season 5 had a large hiatus due to COVID-related shutdowns. Of course, the program saw some substantial changes at the close of last season, including the departure of a prominent character.

The Showtime series Billions, which premiered in 2016, was produced by Brian Koppelman, David Levien, and Andrew Ross Sorkin. (The last name is a coincidence; he is not connected to Aaron Sorkin.) Billions have become one of Showtime’s main TV Series, alongside Shameless, The Chi, Homeland, Dexter (and its sequel series Dexter: Upcoming Blood), and the upcoming series Yellowjackets.

Here’s all we know about Billions Season 6. There will be SPOILERS for what happened in Season 5 and what will happen next.

Season 6 of ‘Billions’ has a release date

Billions season 5 ended on Oct. 3, but the tale is scheduled to resume only a few months later with the premiere of Billions season 6 on Showtime on Jan. 23. Billions will show on Showtime on Sundays at 9 p.m. ET/PT, with the most recent episodes accessible on-demand immediately thereafter.

Season 6 of ‘Billions’ has a storyline

Billions have been a chess battle between New York hedge fund boss Bobby Axelrod (played by Damien Lewis) and US Attorney Chuck Rhoades (Paul Giamatti), who is attempting to bring him and his business, Axe Capital, down from the beginning of the series. In season 5, their long-running feud came to a climax when Axelrod was charged with a crime. Lewis’ only option was to negotiate a deal for his firm and flee to Switzerland (albeit he might perhaps return in some role).

That brings us to Season 6, which will center on Mike Prince, the new CEO of Axe Capital. The following is the official Billions season 6 synopsis:

“As Mike Prince ascends to the throne of Axe Capital, he’s set on changing the game – and fresh money means no compassion.” Meanwhile, Chuck Rhoades believes that no one should have so much money or influence. Forces will be mobilized, and scores will be settled now that Prince is in Chuck’s sights. And, while all of the actors seek new alliances, one thing is certain: riches equals conflict.”

“Cannonade” is the title of the first episode of Billions season 6, yet no summary has been released.

Season 6 cast of ‘Billions.’

Damien Lewis has been replaced as the show’s main actor by Corey Stoll. Mike Prince, played by Stoll, initially appears on Billions in season 5 and has swiftly risen to the top of the food chain. Stoll is a seasoned actor who has been on both the big and small screens. House of Cards, Law & Order: LA, Girls, The Strain, and 2021’s Scenes from a Marriage are just a few of his TV credits. Stoll’s film credits include Midnight in Paris, Ant-Man, First Man, and the upcoming The Many Saints of Newark and West Side Story in 2021.

Of course, Billions is still a two-person show, with Paul Giamatti reprising his role as Chuck Rhoades in Season 6. Giamatti is an Oscar-nominated (Cinderella Man), and Emmy-winning (John Adams) actor who has also received Critics Choice Award nods for his work on Billions. Jungle Cruise, Straight Outta Compton, Sideways, and a slew of other films are among Giamatti’s other credits.

Maggie Siff (Wendy Rhoades) and Asia Argento (Asia Argento) round out the primary characters of Billions. Taylor Mason is played by Kate Dillon, Mike “Wags” Wagner is played by David Costabile, Kate Sacker is played by Condolad Rashad, and Roger “Scooter” Dunbar is played by Daniel Breaker.

Fans will not have to wait long for Billions to return between seasons 5 and 6, and they will not have to wait long for the first look at Billions season 6 since the trailer was published soon after the season 5 finale aired. Billions season 6 seems to be a titanic battle for financial dominance, despite the fact that the opponents may change. The trailer is available after the jump.
