Chicago PD Season 9 Episode 10: Makayla’s Uncle Arrives on The Scene

We were waiting for the next dramatic revelation in Chicago PD season 9 episode 10 for most of the program, praying it wouldn’t hurt Ruzek and Burgess.

Regrettably, we have arrived. We heard at the end of tonight’s show that Makayla had spoken with her uncle, who had paid her a visit at school. The fact that she had been chatting to a strange man at school who wasn’t a teacher certainly sent up a series of warning bells for Adam. It was confirmed that he was an uncle through routine police work; from there, we knew that he was planning to battle for custody.

To think, Ruzek and Burgess spent the whole of this episode trying to figure out how to be there for her in the long run. Kim was scared that one day he’d leave Makayla behind and find someone else to build a family with. She didn’t want to break her heart, so she had to figure out the best way to set limits. They’d figure out a situation in which they’d ultimately buy a three-bedroom apartment, all of them would live together, and Ruzek would have more time to spend with her.

Obviously, there are many unanswered uncertainties concerning Adam and Kim’s future plans, but at the very least, they could all be together and striving to raise Makayla.

While Adam and Kim have gone through a lot since the beginning of the series, what we’ll see for them in the future is a bit different. This isn’t a scenario in which their job will rescue them; it’s a situation in which so many areas of their life will be analyzed.
