Back-To-Back Collisions in Moreno Valley Leave Woman And Donkey Dead

A three-vehicle crash on Redlands Boulevard, north of Ironwood Avenue, in Moreno Valley last week killed one lady and wounded another, according to Riverside County Sheriff’s Department authorities.

The tragic traffic accident on the evening of Dec. 15 was believed to be caused by two distinct incidents, according to detectives. According to a Tuesday press release, a Toyota was heading southbound on Redlands Boulevard, north of the 60 Freeway, when it hit and killed a donkey crossing the road.

When Jacqueline Morgan, 52, of Moreno Valley, positioned her Chevrolet in front of the donkey — seemingly to avoid another accident — the driver of the Toyota pushed his car off the road to call for help.

Morgan had gotten out of her car and was standing next to the driver’s side when she was hit by a Nissan. The Nissan slammed into the parked Toyota, then crossed the road and crashed in a drainage ditch nearby.

Firefighters had to extricate the Nissan driver, who was transferred to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. In the concerned automobiles, there were no passengers.

Morgan died on Dec. 19 as a result of her injuries. The Toyota’s driver was unharmed and remained on the scene.

It’s unknown if the collision was caused by drugs or alcohol.

Anyone with information on the event should contact Moreno Valley Sheriff’s Station Deputy Jonathan Glass at 951-486-6727 or Riverside County Sheriff’s Department at 951-776-1099.
