THE LOS ANGELES – Officers from the Los Angeles Police Department shot a suspect in Leimert Park on Monday night. Around 9 p.m., KCAL9 reported that officers were summoned to the intersection of Degnan Boulevard and Edgehill Drive due to complaints of an assault with a dangerous weapon.

Uncertainty surrounded the events that led to the incident, however the LAPD reports that the suspect and the police arrived at the scene at Bronson Avenue and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. Although KCAL9 stated the suspect was alive and breathing when carried by paramedics, the suspect was shot and sent to a hospital in an uncertain condition.

Locals nearby claim that the suspect has a mental ailment. One local who lived close by remarked, “I heard three big gunfire and no return fire.” In the incident, no cops suffered any injuries.
