Season 2 of Only Murders in the Building has added Friends alum Michael Rapaport, to the cast. Only Murders in the Building, starring Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez, premiered on Hulu in August 2021 and rapidly became the platform’s most-watched comedy series. Because of the show’s likability and its comic style and satire of podcasts and murderous, it has been well acclaimed. Only the first season of Murders in the Building featured three inhabitants of the Arconia, a luxury Westside apartment complex, solving a murder deemed a suicide by the authorities. After being wrongfully accused of a new murder in the Arconia in the season 1 finale, Mabel (Gomez) is now facing trial for her innocence, which will take up some of Season 2’s running time.
According to Deadline, actor Michael Rapaport has joined the star-studded cast of Only Murders in the Building to help with the public inquiry in season 2. Detective Kreps, played by Rapaport, will investigate Arconia’s recent murder and Mabel’s possible link to crime. Rapaport will reprise his role as a police officer for the second time. Gary, a police officer who develops feelings for Phoebe, was played by the actor in Friends season 5 as Gary (Lisa Kudrow).
Rapaport isn’t the only new cast member to join Only Murders in the Building’s second season. Cast members are revealed Cara Delevingne, Trainwreck’s Amy Schumer, and Terms of Endearment’s Shirley MacLaine. Only Murders in the Buildings now boasts an even more impressive cast, thanks to the addition of Rapaport. The new season’s scope has been made quite apparent. The plot of Only Murders in the Buildings can’t be revealed just yet, but with filming nearly complete, a release date announcement should be imminent.
