Jewish Man Slapped in Random Brooklyn Attack in Suspected Hate Crime (1)

In a possible hate crime, a Jewish man was slapped in a random Brooklyn incident.

According to fresh evidence provided by NYPD, an assailant randomly slapped a Jewish guy on a Brooklyn street in an incident that authorities are investigating as a hate crime.

Around 11:30 p.m. Friday, the 22-year-old victim was walking on Avenue L near East 32nd Street in East Midwood when a guy stepped out of the passenger side of a light-colored minivan and approached him, according to officials.

The suspect is shown standing close to the victim, attempting to get into a fighting posture at one point, before punching him in the face and knocking his yarmulke off his head in the footage published late Sunday.

The attacker can be seen sprinting toward the waiting vehicle in the video.

The sufferer declined medical treatment for facial discomfort, redness, and swelling.

During the incident, the suspect may have murmured something, but any utterances were indecipherable, according to investigators. The NYPD’s Hate Crimes Task Force is investigating the incident.

The suspect is also seen entering a convenience shop after the incident and afterward with the minivan’s driver at the nearby petrol station, according to police film.

Other previous attacks on Jewish victims in Brooklyn have preceded this one.

Last week, a 15-year-old kid was arrested in Bedford-Stuyvesant for allegedly assaulting two Jewish men in back-to-back instances on Feb. 4.

On Jan. 22, a 21-year-old male dressed in traditional Jewish clothing was likewise slugged at random in Crown Heights.
