The first 14 minutes of the second space battleship Yamato 2205 film have been streamed.

On Sunday, the official website for the modern Star Blazers: Space Battleship Yamato anime remakes released the first 14 minutes of the film Uch Senkan Yamato 2205: Aratanaru Tabidachi – Ksh -STASHA- (Space Battleship Yamato 2205: The New Voyage Part II: Stasha). Earlier in the evening, the footage debuted on a television special.

The film is the second of two in the sequel project Uch Senkan Yamato 2205: Aratanaru Tabidachi (Space Battleship Yamato 2205: The New Voyage), and it will be released on February 4. As with previous films in the remake series, a special edition Blu-ray Disc of the film, as well as digital cels, will be available for purchase at the same time as the theatrical release date. On March 29, a limited edition Blu-ray Disc and DVD will be available.

Yamato yo Towa ni: Rebel 3199 is the next project after Yamato 2205. The title of the 1980 sequel to the original Yamato anime projects is Yamato yo Towa ni (Be Forever Yamato). The story of the 1980 film is not set in the year 3199, but the story of the 2004 original video anime series Dai Yamato Zero-go is.

The first of the two films, Uch Senkan Yamato 2205: Aratanaru Tabidachi – Zensh -TAKE OFF-, premiered in Japan on October 8. In theaters, viewers could purchase a special edition Blu-ray Disc of the film. On November 26, the standard edition Blu-ray Disc and DVD were released.

Among the returning cast members are:

Susumu is played by Daisuke Ono. Yuki Mori is played by Kodai Houko Kuwashima, and Shir Sanada is played by Houchu Ohtsuka.
Abelt Dessler is played by Kichi Yamadera.
Starsha Iscandar is played by Kikuko Inoue.
Tasuke Tokugawa is played by Nobuhiko Okamoto.

The new two-film project, based on the 1979 television special Space Battleship Yamato: The New Voyage, begins three years after the war with the White Comet Empire. Kodai now commands the battleship Yamato, which is facing a new battle with a new crew.

Star Blazers: Space Battleship Yamato 2199 is a remake of Leiji Matsumoto and Yoshinobu Nishizaki’s original 1974 Space Battleship Yamato series. It first debuted in Japan as a series of seven films shown in theaters from 2012 to 2013, before being broadcast on Japanese television in April 2013. In 2014, the anime film Uch Senkan Yamato 2199: Hoshi-Meguru Hakobune was released in Japan.

The Star Blazers: Space Battleship Yamato 2202 sequel project, like Yamato 2199, began as a series of seven films from June 2017 to March 2019. Yamato 2202’s television adaptation debuted in Japan in October 2018. In May 2019, Crunchyroll began streaming the anime, and Funimation began streaming an English dub.
