Father’s body was discovered days after he attempted to walk home in a snowstorm.

According to a report, a Virginia man who attempted to walk home in a snowstorm after crashing his automobile was found dead three days later. A search crew discovered the body of Jacob Whaley, 34, just 200 yards from the spot in Louisa where his family had told investigators he might have gone after he first vanished, according to CSU.

Whaley was attempting to walk the six miles to his home in the bitter cold, according to the story. Whaley’s relatives alerted the sheriff’s office after he stopped responding and never returned home. Whaley could have been near Greene’s Corner Road, according to the sheriff’s office.

When deputies got on the scene, they couldn’t find him at first. Whaley’s family said that authorities should have discovered him alive.

Shannon Whaley, Whaley’s mother, told the news organization, “I’m so angry with this county.” The narrator states, “All they had to do was go outside and call for him.” “Louisa County let him freeze to death,” said the man’s sister, Angela Whaley.

Whaley’s death was announced by the Louisa County Sheriff’s Office in a statement. “Our heartfelt condolences go out to Mr. Jacob Whaley’s family and friends,” the office added.

The Louisa County Sheriff’s Office places a high focus on missing person cases, and we share their anguish and sadness.”
