Violence Continues in Br as 4 Separate Shootings Leave 2 Dead, 3 Others Injured

Four different shootings in BR have left two people dead and three more injured.

(CSU) – BATON ROUGE, La. – Four different shootings occurred in Baton Rouge on Sunday, Jan. 9. The Baton Rouge Police Department is investigating. According to a BRPD spokesperson, Shawn E. George II, 18, died in the street from gunshot wounds around 4:20 p.m. on South Choctaw Drive near Dallas Drive.

Dion Williams, 14, died at a nearby hospital following gunshot wounds sustained during a shooting at 2180 Lobdell Avenue at 2 p.m., according to a BRPD spokesperson.

According to authorities, Williams was discovered in the parking lot with apparent wounds. According to a BRPD spokesperson, two victims were shot near Government Street around 10:30 a.m. in the 300 block of Apartment Court.

One person is in critical condition, while the other is in stable condition, according to first responders. According to a BRPD official, one individual was shot on Reulet Avenue. The person was transferred to the hospital in stable condition, according to first responders.

The investigation is still ongoing.
