Spokane Father Arrested For Selling Fentanyl Pills After 1-Year-Old Daughter Overdoses

SPOKANE, Washington (CSU) – After his 17-month-old daughter overdosed on Fentanyl, a Spokane man was charged with distributing lethal drugs.

Frank Marusic, 31, is accused of selling “Blue Mexi” pills, which are Oxycodone tablets that are not genuine. The Spokane Police Department (SPD) had been investigating Marusic for months prior to his daughter’s murder and had even set up four different undercover operations to buy from him in September.

After the Spokane County Medical Examiner discovered a fatal dosage of Fentanyl in his daughter’s bloodstream on Dec. 16, he was arrested.

The girl’s mother discovered her limp, pallid, and unconscious, according to court filings. After that, she shouted for her roommates to dial 9-1-1.

Marusic, the father, gave his daughter Narcan because he was scared she “got into something,” according to witnesses.

The infant was subsequently rushed to the hospital, where he was diagnosed with severe brain damage. Her parents didn’t arrive at the hospital until the next day, according to court filings. She was eventually removed from the ventilator and died on Dec. 7. According to doctors, her parents failed to offer a credible explanation for her injuries.

A child expert examined the girl’s 4-year-old brother, who revealed his sister got ahold of a medication that her father gave her. He pointed to blue playdough in the room when asked what color the pill was.

Marusic was charged with three charges of selling a controlled drug and one crime of controlled substance murder. On a $1 million bail, he is being held at the Spokane County Jail.
