SPARTANBURG COUNTY, SOUTH CAROLINA (CSU) – In a collision on Chesnee Highway in Spartanburg County on Tuesday afternoon, one person died.
The incident occurred soon after 4:30 p.m. on US-221 (Chesnee Highway) at Cherokee Circle, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
According to officers, a Honda SUV was attempting to turn onto Chesnee Highway from a private driveway when it was hit by a northbound automobile.
According to highway police, the automobile then veered into oncoming traffic and was hit head-on by a Chevrolet SUV.
The car’s driver died at the site of the accident due to their injuries. The driver of the Chevrolet SUV and a passenger in the automobile were both brought to Spartanburg Medical Center with injuries.
The Honda SUV’s driver and passenger were unharmed in the collision. According to the Highway Patrol, the Honda driver was charged with Failure to Yield Right of Way.
