Update Weld County Sheriff’s Office Hit-and-Run Suspect Arrested Overnight

An Aurora man was detained Monday morning in Greeley after leaving the scene of an accident and pointing a pistol at another car.

According to a Monday evening press release from the Weld County Sheriff’s Office, Johnathan Faulk, 31, was deemed to be armed and dangerous after a hit-and-run collision in which he subsequently threatened a motorist with a firearm.

The incident occurred at 10:45 a.m. Monday between O Street and 37th Avenue in Greeley. Faulk was said to have driven away from the scene and parked his car at U.S. 85 and Colorado 392 before escaping on foot.

On the corner of U.S. 85 and Colorado 392, a witness to the hit-and-run accident followed Faulk to his parked automobile. After the suspect left his vehicle, the driver challenged him, and Faulk threatened him with a small handgun. There were no injuries.

Weld County deputies and two K9 teams responded to Faulk’s car on U.S. 85 and Colo. 392, while Greeley police stayed at the site. Deputies discovered prescription medications, drug paraphernalia, and a tiny quantity of suspected methamphetamine in his car during an open-air smell.

According to the Weld County Sheriff’s Office, Faulk was arrested overnight on Monday and put into the Weld County Jail.
