Hairy, 20, was identified as the vendor of a £6,500 gold belcher necklace stolen in a robbery of a 50-year-old man on September 20 at Queensgate car park.

A 10-inch section of the chain was sold at a pawnbroker in Long Causeway, Peterborough, three days later, on September 23.

Hairy was apprehended and accused of dealing in stolen property, which he confessed in court.

Hairy, who has no known location, was sentenced to two years in jail at Peterborough Crown Court on Thursday, December 9.

DC “I hope this sentence emphasizes the gravity of handling stolen items — if you play a part in a crime, we will come after you,” investigator Rob Giffen stated.
