Man Accused of Running Down Brother-in-Law With Truck After Christmas Party Fight

After a Christmas party brawl, a man is accused of running down his brother-in-law with his vehicle. Last weekend, at a Christmas party in Georgia, a guy tragically hit his brother-in-law with his car.

According to authorities, the two had been battling behind the Lawrenceville house where the party took place before the fight spilled out into the street about 5:15 a.m. Saturday.

Authorities say, Ernesto Pelayo, 34, then jumped into his black Dodge Ram 3500 and mowed down his sister’s husband, Juan Davila, 41.

At a local hospital, Davila was declared dead.

Pelayo eluded capture and was still on the run as of Sunday night.

It was unclear what prompted the tragic brawl right away.

Araceli Davila, the victim’s daughter, characterized her father as “kind-hearted and helpful” in an email message to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

She stated, “He was there for everyone and always had a lovely grin.”

“He actually had a golden heart and could never keep a grudge.” He really cared for my mother, brothers, and myself, and he was always there for us.”
