A 16-year-old was shot in the Seventh Ward on Saturday; the NOPD also reported stabbings and carjackings

The New Orleans Police Department says an adolescent kid was shot while riding his bike in the Seventh Ward early Saturday afternoon.

The 16-year-old was shot twice in the 900 block of North Galvez Street (map) around 12:21 p.m., according to the NOPD.

According to police, a woman was wounded in the leg and brought to the hospital in the 7600 block of Forum Boulevard around 1:10 p.m. on Sunday.

The gunshots were among a slew of crimes recorded by the New Orleans Police Department on Sunday, including a stabbing and three carjackings between Saturday night and early Sunday morning.

A 39-year-old male was stabbed in the 900 block of Decatur Street (map) in the French Quarter on Saturday at about 9:38 p.m. and discovered laying on the street, according to police. The guy was transported to University Medical Center by paramedics.

A 27-year-old guy was carjacked in the 2400 block of Dauphine Street (map) in the Marigny at 11:37 p.m. on Saturday.

When another guy opened his door and instructed him to get out of his vehicle, he was parked. The victim fled, and the suspect got into his vehicle and proceeded along Franklin Avenue.

A 30-year-old woman was carjacked in the 13600 block of Dwyer Boulevard (map), near Little Woods, at 1 a.m. Sunday.

A man demanded the lady’s keys as she walked up to her house. She tried to hit him away, but he grabbed her, snatched her keys, and drove away in her car with another man.

A 29-year-old lady was carjacked at 3 a.m. in the 900 block of Gallier Street (map) in the Bywater.

When the lady was removing her belongings from her vehicle, a black automobile drew up beside her. One of the males exited the car and demanded her keys and the vehicle. She relinquished them, and both automobiles drove away.
