4 Dead in 3 separate NW DC shootings

WASHINGTON (CSU) – According to the Metropolitan Police Department, four persons were killed in three different shootings in Northwest D.C. within two hours (MPD).

According to police, the nocturnal violence began at 10:48 p.m. Sunday when MPD officers responded to a complaint of gunfire in the Park Place and Manor Place neighborhoods. Officers arriving on location saw a male seated in a car with a gunshot wound to the chest, said to Lt. Joe Cullen, Watch Commander of MPD’s 4th District. At the spot, he was declared dead.

According to Cullen, there is no information about prospective suspects or motives in the incident.

A short time later, at midnight, officers from the MPD’s 3rd District were sent to the 1400 block of P St. NW in response to a 911 call reporting a gunshot in an apartment. According to Lt. Stephen Amodeo, a third district watch commander, two guys were located inside the apartment with gunshot wounds. Both fatalities were declared dead on the spot. Police are not seeking any suspects in the incident, which is limited to the flat, according to Amodeo.

A third fatal shooting occurred roughly 30 minutes later in the 200 block of Allison St NW, once again in the MPD’s 4th District. According to Lt. Cullen, police got a 911 call reporting a shooting, which Shotspotter technology corroborated. When authorities arrived, they discovered a guy on the street with a gunshot wound. The responding police tried to resuscitate the individual, but he was declared dead at the site, according to Cullen.

Police are seeking a red four-door vehicle that was spotted fleeing the area. There was no additional information about the lookout available early Monday.
