Phoenix Student Placed in Custody After Threatening To Bring Weapon To School, District Says

Phoenix, N.Y. – One of our students has been placed in police custody. They threatened to bring a weapon to school yesterday.

The school district received a notice last night that a student is making threats on social media to bring a weapon to school. The superintendent emailed parents this morning.

Police officers went to the student’s house to investigate. After they did, the student was put in jail. The student is not going to be at school on Wednesday. They will face disciplinary action through the school district.

The district did not tell us which school the student was threatening. A school district official is not available for comment on the incident. In the email, Byrne thanked the community for helping out. The school district and police were helped.

Thank you for being careful, and thank you for telling the school district or police when you hear something that might be a problem.
