Missing Georgia Girl Found Dead in Vacant Alabama Home, Suspect Arrested

COLUMBUS, Ga. – Deputies arrested a suspect after the 5-year-old girl missing in Georgia was found dead in Alabama.

Officials say that Kamarie Holland was five years old. She went missing at 6:15 in the morning on Monday when her mother woke up. The house is on Bowman Street in Columbus, Georgia.

Investigators found out about a suspect, Jeremy Tremaine Williams. They tracked him down to Alabama, where he was at a hotel in Phenix City. The house he lived in is now vacant.

When investigators searched Williams’ address, they found Holland’s body.

The Russell County Sheriff Heath Taylor said that the girl died from asphyxiation. It also looks like she was sexually abused before her death, but it is not known for sure.

“It’s a sad time to speak about a 5-year-old,” he said. “We are having to work on a case about this child who did nothing wrong.”

Williams is in jail. He was charged with murder. Others might have helped him.

Police say that Williams had charges of abuse of children in Russell County and Columbus. They also think he may have killed a baby in Alaska, but they couldn’t charge him because there was not enough evidence.
