Police Respond to Two Crime Scenes in Wilkes-Barre

LUZERNE COUNTY, WILKES-BARRE (CSU) – Police in the Wilkes-Barre area had a busy night on Wednesday.

Officers were summoned to two crime scenes less than two miles apart. One of them was a residence on Hill Street. The other was Chacko’s, Bowling Alley. Police tape is still in place in the parking lot while they gather evidence. About 9 p.m. Wednesday night, police were summoned to a home in the 100 block of Hill Street, but little is known at this time.

City and township police were summoned to the bowling alley on Wilkes-Barre Boulevard, in addition to state police. The parking lot was littered with shell shells, and a witness told Eyewitness News that he heard and saw people arguing before hearing gunshots.

At least two people pulled out firearms and fired rounds at each other, according to witnesses on the scene. In the Chacko’s parking lot, several cars were hit, and one person was taken to the hospital.

It’s unclear whether these scenes are linked. In future editions of Eyewitness News, we’ll keep you up to current with the latest.
