Boys, Ages 2 and 5, Among 4 Victims of Suspected Murder-Suicide in Central Ohio

THE CITY OF LITHOPOLIS, OHIO — Four members of a family were discovered dead in their house Wednesday morning, including two young boys, in what authorities believe was a murder-suicide.

According to Fairfield County Sheriff Alex Lape, Kiara M. Anderson, 29, Joseph Anderson, 5, and Jeffrey Anderson, 2, died in the shooting. Joseph Anderson, 30, the alleged gunman, was also discovered dead inside the house.

At 10 a.m. Wednesday, the sheriff’s department received a call regarding a probable gunshot, according to WBNS Channel 10. The victims were located inside the residence by deputies, Lithopolis police, and firemen, according to the Eagle Gazette.

According to Lape, the older Anderson texted someone about the shooting. He texted that he “had snapped” and instructed the recipient to dial 911. After that, police enforcement was notified.

According to the Eagle-Gazette, officials are investigating the shooting as a murder-suicide with no additional suspects.
