In broad daylight, the co-owner of a Bristol restaurant shot in Bucktown tried a carjacking.

CHICAGO (CSU) –During an attempted carjacking in broad daylight on Wednesday afternoon, the co-owner of the Bucktown bistro The Bristol was shot.

A 49-year-old man was approached by two individuals who wanted his automobile soon afternoon in the 2000-block of West Shakespeare, according to Chicago police.

At least one of the individuals, according to police, pulled out a pistol and fired a shot, hitting the man in the leg. According to authorities, he was moved to Illinois Masonic Hospital for treatment, where he was said to be in good health.

The other co-owner of the restaurant verified that his business partner had been shot and that the criminals had also taken his phone.

At this time, no one is being held in custody. The Chicago Police Department is conducting an investigation.
