A Cortland County woman will serve almost 16 years in federal prison for her role in sexually abusing a youngster on many occasions.
Brittany Berry, 27, of Marathon, guilty of conspiring with Lawrence Berry, 28, of Marathon, to abuse a three-year-old child five times in August and September of 2018.
According to federal prosecutors, Brittany took photographs, as well as recorded and live images of the youngster, and transferred them to Lawrence through the internet at Lawrence’s request.
The lady admitted guilt in October, while her husband admitted guilt in August and was sentenced to 30 years in prison in November.
On December 21, Brittany Berry was convicted in Federal Court to 190 months in prison and 15 years of post-release supervision.
The FBI and the City of Cortland Police Department investigated the case, which was prosecuted as part of the Safe Childhood project by Assistant US Attorney Michael D. Gadarian and Special Assistant US Attorney Adrian LaRochelle.
