2 Killed, 3 Wounded, in Shootings Monday in Chicago

Two individuals were murdered, and three others were injured in gunshots in Chicago on Monday.

  • In Gresham, on Chicago’s South Side, a 24-year-old man was fatally shot. According to Chicago Police, the victim was walking down the street in the 7500 block of South Harvard Avenue just before 6 p.m. when he was shot at. He was shot in the chest and sent to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he passed away.
  • A victim was slain in a drive-by in Chicago Lawn on the Southwest Side just hours before. The guy, whose age was not disclosed, was standing on the sidewalk in the 2800 block of West 63rd Street at 3 p.m. when a car passed by and someone from inside fired bullets, according to police. After being struck in the back, the guy was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he died.
  • In a non-fatal shooting, an 18-year-old man was discovered shot aboard a Red Line train in Englewood on the South Side. Officers located the man with gunshot wounds inside the train at a Red Line station in the first block of West 69th Street around 7:45 p.m., according to police. The victim was shot in the neck and leg and was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was classified in critical condition.

In addition, two more people were injured in gunfire that occurred around the city.

Last weekend’s gunshots in Chicago killed four individuals and injured twenty-one others.
