Dakota Dunes Man Receives Probation For Theft From The Business

ELK POINT, S.D. — A Dakota Dunes man was put on probation and had to go to prison for stealing money from a North Sioux City company. A judge said that Joshua McElroy should go to jail for 180 days and then be on probation. The judge also said that the jail sentence could be suspended.

McElroy pleaded guilty to stealing money from Union County Circuit Court. He got one year in prison and had to pay back the money that he stole.

McElroy took, or used, things from Murphy Insulation and Murphy Mechanical Insulation. The value of the things that he took is more than $100,000 but less than or equal to $500,000.

The judge ordered McElroy to pay $150,000.
