Beverly Hills Takes Action to Combat Rising Crime

Crime is up in Los Angeles, so the city of Beverly Hills is taking steps to keep people safe.

The Beverly Hills Police Department is going to swear in new officers on Monday. They are also hiring more private security for the holidays. A lady died in her home in Beverly Hills. So her family has moved out.

Aariel Maynor, a 29-year-old Los Angeles resident, was arrested for the killing the next day. The next day, the police arrested a 29-year-old man from Los Angeles named Aariel Maynor. He was arrested for killing someone.

Beverly Hills residents are worried about the crime. Some people, like Dara Levy, are scared. She said that she was scared too. I walk around with pepper spray and anything I can do, but I am always watching behind me, in front of me.

Derek Fox, who lives in Beverly Hills, said that the police officers should not be sitting in their cars all day. They should be on the street corners.

If somebody tries to rob you in Avra, Xi’an, or Via Alloro, there’s a cop 20 yards away.
