On Monday afternoon, a daytime gunshot sent highly armed police officers to crowded midtown, prompting the police to momentarily ask citizens to keep off the streets as they searched for the shooter.
The Atlanta Police said that Raissa Djuissi Kengne had been detained at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport and that police had found a semiautomatic handgun about two hours after the shooting. The cops didn’t disclose a potential reason right away.

The deceased were identified as Michael Shinners, 60, of Alpharetta, Georgia, and Wesley Freeman, 41, of Atlanta by the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s office.
Local news outlets broadcast images of highly armed police officers patrolling the streets while the police initially described the incident as “an active situation in Midtown.”
Officers from several law enforcement agencies reacted, according to Chief Schierbaum, following a routine for a potential “active shooter” in the region. He claimed that the police had ordered everyone to “shelter in place” and had scoured the area up until the trail ended at the airport.
State police stopped one of Atlanta’s busiest roads at the start of rush hour just before 4 p.m., just south of the city’s central business district.
However, even before the troopers closed the roadway, motorists could see a law enforcement reaction in progress as at least a dozen police cars, several of which were unmarked and at least one of which was an armoured personnel carrier, sped southward toward the airport with their blue lights blazing.
The woman was taken into arrest at Hartsfield-Jackson Airport, according to the police, “without incident.”
