Teen Assaulted in Attempted Robbery in Trinity

Teen Assaulted in Attempted Robbery in Trinity (1)

On Sunday, January 2, at about 7.40 p.m., an incident occurred.

Two 13-year-old boys were walking along Ferry Road before turning into South Trinity Road when they were approached by a group of male youngsters aged 14 to 16 years old.

When one of the lads attempted to flee the scene, he was shoved and ordered to hand over money before being beaten.

Police are now attempting to locate and speak with a group of young people suspected of being involved in the event.

There were around 12 of them, dressed in dark tracksuits with facemasks and balaclavas. One of them is described as Asian in appearance and stands roughly 5 feet tall. He was dressed in a pink headpiece and black gloves.

“Fortunately, the boy who was assaulted did not require medical care,” Detective Constable Will Doughty said, “but he was terrified by what transpired.” We’d like to speak with everyone involved as part of our inquiry to get the full picture.

“If you have any info, call 101 and provide the operator incident number 2640 from Sunday, January 2, 2022, or call Crimestoppers anonymously at 0800-555-111.”
