Fourth Victim from New Year’s Eve Shooting Has Died, Coroner Says

The fourth victim of the New Year’s Eve shooting has died, according to the coroner.

A fourth person was killed in a shooting at a New Year’s Eve block party.

According to Harrison County Coroner Brian Switzer and our media partner, the Sun Herald, Nathaniel Harris, 52, of Gulfport, died at 8 p.m. Sunday.

After an incident broke out at what was supposed to be a family gathering, he and other victims were rushed to Gulfport’s Memorial Hospital. According to police accounts, the gathering had turned into a block party when the dispute escalated, and shooting erupted at home in the 12o block of Lewis Street in Gaston Point.

This week, an autopsy will be performed.
