Chicago Expressway Shootings 3 Shot on I-57 on South Side; Separate Shooting Leaves Car Damaged

(CSU) CHICAGO — Three persons were injured in a shooting on I-57 in Chicago on Sunday night, and a car was damaged in a separate incident on the same road.

According to Illinois State Police, the initial gunshot happened at 11:19 p.m., when shots were fired from a car moving southbound at 119th Street.

The shootings injured three persons inside a car, and they were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to authorities.

Police were called to another I-57 incident an hour later, this time involving an automobile.

According to officials, a motorist traveling southbound on 107th Street fired rounds at another vehicle. Officials said the driver of the automobile that was shot at was uninjured.

After each shooting, police shut down the expressway’s southbound lanes, and I-57 has since reopened.
