(CSU) FOLEY, Mo. — An eastern Missouri sheriff’s officer shot a guy after the man reportedly shot his own mother, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Deputies from Lincoln County were dispatched to a domestic disturbance near Foley on Thursday morning. Authorities said they discovered a 52-year-old lady arguing with her 34-year-old son outside a home.
According to a sheriff’s department press statement, the son shot his mother, and a deputy fired his pistol, striking the man.
Both the mother and the son have been admitted to the hospital, but the extent of their injuries has not been disclosed.
Until the investigation is completed, the deputy has been placed on administrative leave.
