Four People Attacked in Studio City Home Invasion

After a brutal home invasion robbery in Studio City on Thursday night, the Los Angeles Police Department is hunting for four masked men wearing hooded sweatshirts.

One of the victims was ambushed while taking out the trash outside the residence on the 10800 block of Alta Vista Drive in Studio City, according to authorities.

The group of males then assaulted four more people, one of whom is disabled.

At roughly 7:30 p.m., the Los Angeles Fire Department transferred the first assault victim, who was in uncertain condition.

“One of them brandished a revolver at him. They threw him to the ground and began thrashing him. He was brought into the house by them. Three additional people are present: two caregivers and the man’s bedridden child. “They put them in flex cuffs and looted the place,” LAPD Detective Todd Holmberg said.

Police said they aren’t sure what was taken yet. Only the males were able to flee through the rear door.

As the investigation progressed, neighbors streamed out into the street.

“An officer arrived at the house and inquired if we had video of the front, to which we said that we did not.” One of the neighbors, Michael Thacher, remarked, “Our cameras aren’t working.”

According to authorities, there’s no reason to assume this was a follow-up robbery.

“It’s an upsetting home invasion.” These are the places that the perpetrators are after. “It’s usually where the money is,” says the narrator. “I’m not going to say that happens all the time,” Detective Holmberg continued.

Situational awareness and operational security systems, according to the LAPD, are suggested.

LAPD is urging anyone with knowledge to contact them.
