Raleigh Police Investigating Downtown Shooting

Raleigh Police Department is investigating a shooting downtown.

Raleigh police were sent to a report of a shooting in the 700 block of Tucker Street.

When they got there, the police found a man who had been shot. They took him to the hospital for treatment. Police are currently investigating this incident.

Raleigh police are investigating a shooting that took place in downtown Raleigh on Monday evening. An unidentified man was shot and killed near the intersection of South West Street and East Hargett Street.

Eyewitnesses reported that a group of young men were fighting shortly before the shooting took place. Police have identified one suspect but have not released his name. A police statement indicated that the suspect left the scene in a vehicle with two other men and that they are still at large.

No arrests have been made, nor has any information been released as to the name of the victim.

The intersection was closed off immediately following the shooting, and police have not yet given an update on when it will be reopened. Raleigh Police Chief Cassandra Deck-Brown issued a statement, “the department is working quickly to bring those responsible for this crime to justice.”
