With NFTs, This Nyla Hayes a 12-Year-Old Has Made Over $6 Million, and She's only Getting Started

Nyla Hayes, who is only 12 years old, is already a student, an artist, and, yes, a billionaire businesswoman. On the other hand, Nyla does not give the impression that her newfound success has gone to her head.

And it’d be simple to get carried away with it. Nyla Hayes, after all, has already made over $5.7 million in Ether from her NFT artwork, which has done exceptionally well. As an “Artist-in-Residence” for Time Magazine, she recently developed a series depicting Time’s 100 Women of the Year.

It’s no surprise that Hayes has been nominated to the Future 50 Awards for 2021, which honors the 50 most prominent people in technology who are pushing innovation.

“I was at my Grandmother’s house, and I had just gotten a new phone, so I asked my Grandmother what I should sketch.” ‘Draw anything you enjoy,’ she urged, according to Nyla Hayes. “Well, I love being a female and I adore the brontosaurus dinosaur, so I figured, why don’t I combine the two and start producing these long-necked gals and call them long neckies?”

Hayes had amassed a collection before she realized it, and her uncle urged her to choose the NFT route for two reasons. One, it would allow her artwork to be seen by more people without incurring significant upfront costs, and two, as Hayes puts it, “blockchain affords me security on my IP.”

As if she were a legitimate 12-year-old. Hayes will be thirteen on January 1st.

The message of Hayes’ artwork is far more important to her than the payout. The Long Neckties philosophy is all about self-love and empowerment.

“My Long Neckties represent global variety and women from all walks of life.” It’s designed to make individuals feel at ease in their skin, and it’s meant to empower young girls to be confident in their skin,” Nyla Hayes explained.

So, where do we go from here? Hayes didn’t want to give too much away, but she does want to keep inspiring people, and she intends to do so by combining the NFT space and the digital world with the actual world.

“I’m going to attempt to combine the two, but that’s all I can say,” Hayes said. Keep an eye out for updates.
