A group of robbers sprayed pepper spray at a Nordstrom store in the Westfield Topanga Mall on Wednesday night. One employee got hurt. Unlike other recent robberies, this robbery was not a smash and grab.
Some robbers wearing masks went into the Nordstrom store. They got away in a car.
“Several people attacked a security guard with a caustic chemical and then stole purses. The total loss is expected to be around $25,000.” The police are patrolling the malls more because there have been many robberies lately. Last weekend, someone robbed a store in Beverly Hills that sells expensive things. There was also a robbery at Nordstrom in the Grove on Monday.
The robbers left in a Ford Mustang. But the police do not know where they are. The police are asking people to be safe and to help the police if they can.
We had a lot of suspects come and remove property. They ran back to their car. But we had no police officers at the spot. The situation was similar because we had a lot of suspects enter and take the property, but we didn’t have enough cops to stop them all.
The police are asking you to call the number 877-ASK-LAPD if you see the robbers’ car.
