Wisconsin Deputy Placed on Administrative Assignment After Incident at A Super 8 Hotel

WINDSOR, Wis. (CSU) – WINDSOR, Wis. After an incident that took place at a motel in Dane County, Wisconsin, during which the deputy is said to have “discharged their pistol,” the officer has been given an administrative assignment.

An officer was involved in a critical incident that occurred at a Super 8 motel on Lake Circle in the Village of Windsor. The Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) of the Wisconsin Department of Justice (DOJ) is conducting an investigation into the incident.

The event reportedly took place on October 13 at roughly 6:10 p.m., according to the authorities.

The Department of Justice in Wisconsin claims that a deputy from the Dane County Sheriff’s Office made contact with a car while it was parked at the motel. During the course of that confrontation, the policeman reportedly fired their weapon.

The patient was taken to a hospital, where doctors subsequently confirmed that they had passed away.

During the event, there were no reported injuries to any members of law enforcement.

In accordance with the protocol of the department, the deputy who was engaged in the incident at the Dane County Sheriff’s Office has been given an administrative assignment.

DCI is in charge of conducting this investigation, which is also being worked on by the police departments of DeForest and Maple Bluff, as well as the Wisconsin State Patrol, the DCI Crime Response Specialist, the Wisconsin State Crime Lab, and the Dane County Medical Examiner’s Office. During this investigation, the participating law enforcement agencies are providing DCI with their full cooperation.
