This week marks the return of The Walking Dead to AMC with the airing of Episode 18, titled “A New Deal.” The events of episode 17, titled “Lockdown,” are picked up just where they left off in this episode. The conclusion of this episode left viewers hanging on a big cliffhanger, and they are eager to see what comes next.
In the episode “A New Deal,” played by Melissa McBride, Carol will attempt to get her friends out of danger by negotiating with Governor Milton, played by Laila Robins. In the last episode, we saw Carol and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) bring Sebastian (Teo Rapp-Olsson) to his mother with the intention of laying his misdeeds on Lance Hornsby. In this episode, Carol and Negan continue their plan to frame Sebastian’s crimes on Lance Hornsby (Josh Hamilton).
In this episode, Aaron (Ross Marquand), Jerry (Cooper Andrews), Lydia (Cassady McClincy), and Elijah (Okea Eme-Akwari) will journey to Oceanside to notify them of a plan. The programme will follow them as they do so. The last time we checked up on this neighbourhood, Hornsby had already seized control of it in the name of the Commonwealth. After that, witnesses saw him tossing a coin to determine what would happen to them.
The Commonwealth is carrying on with the Founder’s Day celebrations despite the problems that it is now facing.
On Sunday, October 9, at 9 o’clock Eastern Time, AMC will telecast the episode number 18 of season 11 titled “A New Deal.”
The Variant of the Walking Dead
On Sunday, October 9, the next episode, titled “Variant,” will become accessible to watch on AMC+. On Sunday, October 16, at 9 o’clock Eastern Time, this episode will be shown on AMC.
Episode 19, titled “Variant,” was written by Vivian Tse, while Karen Gaviola was the one who directed it. Since season 9, Tse has held the position of Executive Story Editor, during which time she has authored multiple episodes for seasons 9 through 11. Gaviola is going to make his debut as a director on The Walking Dead with this episode.
It seems like Eugene (Josh McDermitt), who we saw in the teaser sitting in a courtroom, is being tried for something based on the footage that we saw of him there. According to the plot summary for this episode, he will try to evade capture by going into hiding, and Mercer, played by Michael James Shaw, will be entrusted with finding him. It’s possible that the consequences of Eugene’s actions in the Commonwealth have finally found him.
In this episode, Aaron and the rest of his company will have some difficulties to deal with while they are travelling.
The fans are under the impression that this episode, which has been given the title “Variant,” will provide light on the variant walkers that have been shown in the teaser and that showrunner Angela Kang has discussed.
