One Dead After Car Crash In Chesterfield County

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, S.C. — CHESTERFIELD A deadly car accident that occurred around two miles west of Pageland, South Carolina, is currently being investigated by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

On October 7th, about 7:30 in the morning, state troopers responded to a crash that occurred on US Highway-601 close to SC Highway-9.

According to the authorities, two Freightliner tractor-trailers, a model year 2020 and a model year 2000, were travelling eastbound on US Highway-601. A pickup truck manufactured by Chevrolet in 2013 was located in a third vehicle that was moving in the opposite direction, heading west.

According to the statements made by the troopers, the truck drove through the middle of the roadway, sideswiped the tractor-trailer that was travelling in the 2020 direction, and then collided head-on with the tractor-trailer that was travelling in the 2000 direction. The drivers of the Freightliner trucks walked away from the collision unscathed, while the driver of the pickup was confirmed dead at the scene.
