Warner Bros. Discovery Continues to Air Harley Quinn's Fourth Season Despite Purges

Harlivy is forever. The only television show with the guts to allow Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn be criminal girlfriends will keep committing crimes. HBO Max has renewed Harley Quinn for a fourth season with a new showrunner. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Sarah Peters, a seasoned HQ writer, will take over as showrunner. Justin Halpern and Patrick Schumacker, who produce the show, will keep their positions. In a statement, Halpern and Schumacker expressed their happiness that HBO Max wished to carry on the story of Harley and Ivy. The statement continued, “And we are equally thrilled that this forthcoming season will be in wonderful hands with Sarah Peters serving as our showrunner and Ceci Aranovich supervising animation production, since they have both had a huge impact on the programme with their talent from the beginning.

Kaley Cuoco portrays Harley Quinn, the former psychiatrist who dated the Joker before turning evil. She creates her own group, falls in love with Poison Ivy (Lake Bell), and learns how to balance her needs with those of her partner—skills that the Joker (Alan Tudyk) wasn’t especially interested in fostering. The programme also features Christopher Meloni as Jim Gordon, Diedrich Bader as Batman, Sanaa Latham as Catwoman, J.B. Smoove as a talking plant, Ron Funches as King Shark, and Harvey Guillen from What We Do in the Shadows as Nightwing, the top cake shop in Bludhaven. It was unclear whether the programme would continue under David Zaslav’s direction or if it would be shelved and consigned to history’s ash heap, like so many other Bat-projects.
