After a heated dispute with a group of teenagers in the 1990s, Jackie (Ella Purnell) decides to sleep outside where she obstinately freezes to death over the course of one night. This devastates Shauna (Sophie Nélisse), who considers herself accountable. As they start to believe in the woods’ supernatural power, some of the girls start offering sacrifices to win its favour. Shauna (Melanie Lynskey) kills her adulterous fling after confronting him about his knowledge of her past. She and her wilderness companions meet together for their 25-year high school reunion after disposing of the body. A voicemail tells the listeners that Lottie is likely to blame and, more importantly, still alive after Natalie (Juliette Lewis) is later kidnapped by an eccentric bunch.
