The Splatoon 3 Demo Is Live Two Days Early

Before the online event that will take place this weekend, the Splatfest World Premiere demo is currently playable if you’re itching to get a quick taste of Splatoon 3.

On Saturday, August 27, the Splatfest World Premiere event will begin, giving players a taste of the game’s three-way Splatfests before the main launch in September. The majority of the demo’s features won’t be available until you can play online, but you can download it now to get a sneak preview of what’s to come.

You choose your character’s appearance and the fashion for your Smallfry companion, known only as Little Buddy, as the demo begins in the desert. Before you board the train to Splatsville, a quick instructional task takes you through the fundamental controls, including the new Squid Surge.

You are free to wander around Splatville and all of its shops, but since you are unable to engage in online combat, you cannot level up to gain access to make purchases in those shops. In the Rock, Paper, Scissors Splatfest, you can select your team, wear whatever you like, and change your player banner.

Most importantly, you have the ability to create artwork and posts that will appear in everyone’s Splatsvilles. Yes, this is undoubtedly a collection of Splatoon-level memes at the moment because there is a tonne of crude Among Us fanart and anime fans professing their love for yaoi.

Unfortunately, the demo currently does not have access to the test range, so you will need to wait until Saturday to practise using all of Splatoon 3’s weapons.

For more information on what to anticipate from the single-player campaign, see our Splatoon 3 hands-on preview.
