Four Relatives Dead in Separate Lynn Shootings

Four relatives dead in separate Lynn shootings

According to officials, there were multiple shootings in Lynn on Tuesday afternoon, leaving four relatives dead.

Around 3 p.m., Lynn Police responded to 98 Rockaway Street in response to a complaint of gunfire in the neighbourhood. The Essex County District Attorney reported that two males, ages 66 and 34, were found dead from what appeared to be gunshot wounds.

A possible suspect was identified as a 31-year-old woman. Around 4:30 p.m., police discovered her dead from what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound in a Stop & Shop parking lot.

Outside of 44 Laighton Street, a fourth person—an adult male—was also discovered dead in a car. Although none of the victims have been named, the DA has acknowledged that they are all related.

Authorities have not yet made any arrests, and Lynn Police, the Essex State Police Detective Unit, and the Essex District Attorney’s Office are all still looking into the event.

The public is not in danger, Lynn Police Chief Christopher Reddy reassured them. Unknown as to why the shooting occurred, a Lynn homeowner informed WCVB that she heard around 20 gunshots in the area.
