Police and Prosecutor to Share in $5.7 Million for Crime Fighting

Cleveland, Ohio (CSU) – A $5.7 million award to reduce crime in Ohio will be split among three Valley organisations. The Trumbull County Prosecutor’s Office receives $495,151, East Liverpool Police receive $323,413, Salem Police receive $159,704, and so on.

The grant is part of Ohio’s sixth round of funding for violent crime reduction initiatives.

Grant money was given to sixteen organisations for a variety of purposes, including technological development, crime prevention and education programmes, and violence education training.

The money given to Salem, East Liverpool, and the Trumbull County Prosecutor’s Office will be used to provide retention bonuses to support maintaining present law enforcement personnel levels, hiring new officers, and continuing ongoing public safety services to stop and look into violent crime.

Franklin County: $364,995.63 Madison Township Police Department
Mercer County Sheriff’s Office (Mercer County): $110,640.70 Maple Heights Police Department (Cuyahoga County): $216,237
$1,230,038.69 belongs to the Ohio Dept. of Youth Services (DYS).
Clermont County Owensville Police Department: $88,812.72
Police Department of Perkins Township, Erie County: $268,857.79
Franklin County Police Department, Perry Township: $109,396.50
Revenue from the Salem Police Department (Columbiana County): $159,704
Prosecutor’s Office of Summit County: $764,982.74
Wadsworth Police Department (Medina County): $237,956 Trumbull County Prosecutor’s Office: $495,151.79
